ニュースを読んでスピーチの特訓第二弾です。

今回もお世話になっているCNNの記事を一つ選びスピーチをしてみました。

お題は・・・なぜコンテナ不足が起きているのか？

お題は・・・なぜコンテナ不足が起きているのか？

お題：CNNの記事（Storage containers are scarce, so toymakers are focused on small, squishy toys. for the holidays）

CNNのニュース記事を読んでスピーチをする練習をします。

ニュース記事の概要・・・

コンテナ不足により中国製のおもちゃのアメリカへの輸入が制限されるため、小さめのおもちゃをできる限りコンテナーに詰めて送り、おもちゃ不足解消を狙う。
なぜコンテナ不足が起きているのか？（今回のお題）

私の本業でも同様の問題に直面しています。

他国と比べて、特にアメリカからの輸入品に遅延が生じることが多くなっています。

また昨年末ごろから、海上輸送費の値上がりも多く見られるようになってきました。

少し背景知識があるので、ずるい気もするのですが、本トピックのスピーチをやってみました。

お題：Why are container shortages happening around the world.

１分間の準備時間、スピーチ時間の測定はしっかり実施。

There are a lot of discussions and debates about reasons of container shortages. Personally I have 2 factors contributing to container shortages.

First, I think, of course, the coronavirus affects basically, originally, affects the flow of the containers around the world. Like, for example, most of the people had to stay at home and there are less labor force in, in, at the ports. （1分）And then the containers had to sit for a long time, at the ports. That is the one factor of container shortages.

Also, I think, now some countries are opening and starting to work on like, trading businesses. But we are facing labor shortages as well. Because most of the people at ports had to quit or suspend their jobs at ports. I think they looked for another, other jobs to earn some money for their livelihood.（2分）So, it is, nowadays there were less people. Also we need skilled workers who can take care of ports or gadgets or machines at ports. And it would be difficult to find the applicants.

So for the reasons I mentioned, I think, the labor shortages and a lack of skilled worker, those are the reasons to making, driving the container shortages out.（2分53秒）

これまた内容の薄ぺっらいスピーチですね。

時間は完全にアウト。

内容が前半と後半でかなり重複しています。

泣き出してしまいそうな酷いスピーチでした。

考えていた内容は・・・

理由①人不足
理由②能力のある人も不足

そもそも考え出せた内容が同じです。

他の理由を考え出すことができませんでした。

スピーチを改善してみたいと思います。

改善点のポイント・・・

理由を二つ明確にする
結論→具体例や根拠、説明→結論

There has been a lot of debates about the reasons why container shortages are happening around the world. I personally think that 2 contributing factors mainly cause the problems.

First, the coronavirus affects the flow of containers. When the Covid-19 pandemic began to spread, many countries were forced to implement national lockdown. Shipping companies, then, had to reduce or stop cargo shipments in some countries like the USA. The containers had been piled up in some part of the countries.

Second, while some shipping companies started to ship, the labor shortages slow the process. Many workers left the port and the less was back. Especially workers at port need skills like operating unusual trucks or machines. It is difficult to find the suitable workers.

The reasons I mentioned are the main contributing factors to container shortage.

理由は、コロナウィルスでコンテナの保管場所がある地域に偏ってしまったこと、そして従業員不足としました。

簡単そうに思っていましたが、案外理由が思い浮かびませんでした。

他の記事を見ても意外と理由はコロナになっちゃうんですよね。

この次はコンテナ不足による影響の方をスピーチしようかな。
