ニュースを読んでスピーチの特訓第三弾です。

今回もお世話になっているCNNの記事を一つ選びスピーチをしてみました。

お題は・・・ワクチン接種は義務化すべきか？

お題：CNNの記事（Why vaccinated people dying from Covid-19 doesn’t mean the vaccines are ineffective）

CNNのニュース記事を読んでスピーチをする練習をします。

ニュース記事の概要・・・

元米軍の偉い人であるコリン・ポーエルさんがワクチン接種を終えているのにもかかわらず、コロナウィルスによる合併症で亡くなった。
ワクチンに反対する人もいるが、やはりワクチン接種は効果的である。ワクチン接種をしていない人と比べて、コロナウィルスにかかる人は1/6倍、死に至る人は1/11倍である。（CDC）
しかしながら、ワクチン接種が完璧ではなく、免疫の弱い人や年寄りはコロナのリスクが高くなる。
ワクチン接種は義務化すべきか？（今回のお題）

日本のワクチン接種率は、2021年10月19日現在約68％、アメリカでは約58％となっています。

ワクチン接種が遅れていると言われていた頃に比べて、現在は中国やアメリカを抜き、世界で8位の接種率を誇っています。

人口が少ないこともありますが、国民性も影響している気がします。

私の周りでもワクチン接種を終わっていない人は数人程度です。

お題：Should vaccination be mandatory for all citizens?

１分間の準備時間、スピーチ時間の測定はもちろん実施。

There are a lot of discussions and debates about vaccination should be mandatory for all citizens. Although some argue that vaccination should be decided by each individual and so individual should have the right to choose vaccinated or not. But I think we all should be vaccinated or vaccination should be mandates, mandatory for all citizens for the following reasons.（51秒）

First, it is for citizens’ safety. Some people don’t understand the efficacy of vaccination and opposing to vaccination. （1分）But however, vaccination can alleviate of the severity of Coronavirus and also decreasing the rate of death. So I think it is necessary, I think we should promote vaccination for people and should be mandated.

And also, without vaccines, not all business can open freely. Because most of the businesses have to take care of, care about the vaccination for the safety reasons because of the government, （2分）because the government is asking measures to prevent viruses. So I think it is necessary.

For the reasons I mentioned, vaccination should be mandatory, should be mandated for all citizens.（2分30秒）

考えながら話すので、どうしてもあーとかうーが多くなってしまいます。

内容も後半に行くにつれて、薄くなっていますね。

考えていた内容は・・・

反対している人もいるが、結局結果が明らかで、効果が証明されている。
経済活動を開始するには、皆がワクチンを接種する必要がある。

２個目の理由は、全然英語にできていなかったですね。

There has been a lot of discussions and debates about whether vaccination should be mandated for all citizens. Some opponents say that vaccines are too strong for some people can be dangerous to take. However I believe that vaccination should become compulsory.

First, during Covid-19 pandemic, we could have benefits on our health. Vaccination alleviate the severity of the disease, thus decreasing the case of infection. Especially as for elderly people, they must take it to prevent the complications.

Second, vaccinations actually resulted in the decrease in the infected cases. CDC, the research organization in the USA indicates that the efficacy of vaccines has been proven in the past few months. The opponents need to understand the results.

For the reasons I mentioned, vaccination should be mandated for all citizens.

他にもワクチンの接種率が高くなり、気軽に外に出たり、外食できたりと経済活動が活発化する。

Once the vaccination rate is boosted by mandatory vaccination, the economy will be galvanized. By allaying people’s fears to get infected with vaccines, they are encouraged to go out and spend some money. Consumption will increase to improve the economy.

経済活動から攻める方が、言いやすかったです。
